What is your favorite part about working at IDE?
I love working for a family-owned, small company. Everybody works together. I am friends with everyone.

What do you think makes you unique as a team member?
I have a lot more sales experience than the rest of the sales team members. I offer to work with the team and show them how I go about creating relationships. I put the company first and I am always willing to help out.

What do you enjoy most about your job, and what are some of the challenges you face?
I came from a 5-billion-dollar company where you are just a number. I really enjoy working at a small company. Where else can you call the owner or department on a daily basis.

How do you stay motivated and engaged in your work, and what advice would you give to others who are struggling with motivation?
I have always been self-motivated. This is a career where you can give yourself a raise every sale. I constantly critique myself. I can make a lot of money at IDE. You must stay in that mindset. I leave every morning saying what good thing is going to happen today. I am not here for the dental plan…

How does IDE support your professional development, and what opportunities have you taken advantage of?
I am impressed with what IDE presents the sales team. We are trained often, also, ride along with different leaders in the company are very helpful.

I am responsible for my personal development. I read books, not just on sales, but, being a better person, more informed and professional student of life. Lately,  have been following certain podcasts.

How do you collaborate with your colleagues and team members, and what qualities do you think are essential for effective teamwork?
I try to stay in touch with reps occasionally.  Just to see how they are doing. We seem to work well together. Sam and I have become close, since we are the last two reps left from the old group and we border each other. I have a great relationship with everyone at Rural Hall. It takes a village to sell a drill rig.

How do you balance your work responsibilities with your personal life, and what strategies do you use to maintain that balance
Living in Florida, we have a saying, “People up North live to work, In Fl, we work to live.” I work hard, sometimes very long hours. But I enjoy each and every day like it’s my last. We are outside most of the time. We don’t spend hardly any time inside.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time with the Family, dogs and friends. Walking, riding my bike, gym, scuba diving, underwater photography and videography. Hanging in our pool. parties at our house, affectionately known as the chateau Relaxo.

What is something that you are proud of about yourself?
I’ve done my best at being a good Husband, Father and Grandfather. Nothing else matters.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?
Australia and Tasmania. Exploring the vast lands and diving the Great Barrier Reef. The GBR is the Super Bowl of Scuba diving.
