Brian, our Operations Administrator – Northeast, joined the IDE team approximately 8 1/2 months ago. During his time with IDE, he has made an extraordinary impact with his remarkable work ethic and exceptional abilities. We are truly grateful to have Brian as a valuable member of our team. What is your favorite part about working at IDE?
I like that we are a team and can work together to resolve anything.
What do you think makes you unique as a team member?
I’m great at finding solutions to resolve issues at hand.
What do you enjoy most about your job, and what are some of the challenges you face?
I enjoy being able to help customers when they are down or in a bind, helping get them back up and running. One challenge I face is juggling all the work, but I take it head on giving it my best, and I feel accomplished at the end of the day.
Can you share a project or accomplishment you’re particularly proud of that you worked on during your time here?
A project I am proud of would be getting all of the PA branch’s parts inventory organized, categorized, and put away neatly in new bins and shelves.
How do you stay motivated and engaged in your work, and what advice would you give to others who are struggling with motivation?
I stay motivated by knowing I am part of something bigger than myself, and we are helping create something bigger by starting with foundation work.
How does IDE support your professional development, and what opportunities have you taken advantage of?
IDE wants to teach me a lot about this business, and I take it all in as I love to learn new things.
How do you collaborate with your colleagues and team members, and what qualities do you think are essential for effective teamwork?
We talk as a team to figure out the best solutions, which is great. And I believe having open ears to all parties involved is essential for teamwork.
How do you balance your work responsibilities with your personal life, and what strategies do you use to maintain that balance?
For me that’s easy. When I am at work, it’s work time. When I am not at work, it’s family time. Yes, they intertwine sometimes, but there is always time for both.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, riding my motorcycle and dirt bikes, and most of all spending time with my kids, and just enjoying life with them.
What is something that you are proud of about yourself?
I am proud of being able to call myself a good father.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?
If I had to choose just one, it would have to be Japan. Why? Because I would love to enjoy the streets and fast cars of Tokyo paired with a peaceful, traditional dinner in a samurai castle.
